How long does a typical design project take?
A custom branding project typically takes approximately 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on the scope of the project. We understand that each business has unique requirements, and we work closely with our clients to ensure that we deliver a brand identity that exceeds their expectations within a reasonable timeframe. For web design projects, the timeline can vary depending on the scope and functionalities required for the site. On average, a web design project can take anywhere from 5-8 weeks to complete. Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! We understand the importance of flexibility when it comes to investing in your brand. Typically, we divide the total cost into four payments, beginning with a 25% deposit upon booking your project. This helps spread out the financial commitment, making it more manageable for you. If this plan doesn't quite suit your needs, we're more than happy to discuss individual payment plans to find a solution that works best for you.
Is my initial deposit refundable?
No, the initial deposit is non-refundable. When you book a project with us, we reserve that time exclusively for you, often months in advance. This ensures that we can dedicate the appropriate amount of time and attention that your project deserves. Consequently, we may have to turn away other clients for your reserved slot. If a project is cancelled, it might leave an empty spot that could have been allocated to another project. Therefore, the deposit serves as a commitment from you that you're serious about moving forward with the project.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We typically book projects 2-3 months in advance. This allows us to schedule our work effectively and dedicate the right amount of time and attention to your project. So, as soon as you start thinking you need a designer, it's a good idea to get in touch with us.
Can we start working on the project earlier? Do you have a rush fee?
Yes, it is possible to start a project earlier or expedite it under certain circumstances. We carefully plan our project timelines to allow for comprehensive research, design drafting, and refinement rounds. However, we understand that sometimes you may need your project completed more quickly. If this is the case, please let us know in advance. We may be able to accommodate your project earlier in our schedule if the situation permits. In such cases, a rush fee may be added to your quote, depending on the deadline and complexity of the project. We're committed to meeting your needs while maintaining the highest quality of our work.
Are there any additional fees that are not included in your packages?
There are fees for the website hosting, domain purchasing, app fees and font licences and they are not included in our pricing. Not every project ends up including those fees.
Brand Identity
What is the difference between a fully custom branding and your semi-custom solutions?
Our full service brand design offers a comprehensive and tailored approach, where we work closely with you to create a completely bespoke brand identity that aligns with your vision. This service is ideal for those looking for a highly personalised and in-depth branding experience. On the other hand, our semi-custom brand design service provides a more streamlined approach, offering pre-designed brand packages that can be customised to suit your needs. This service is a great option for those who have a shorter time frame or a more limited budget, while still receiving a professionally designed brand identity.
What do you need from me before the project starts?
Before we can kick off your branding project, there are a few key things we need from you. First and foremost, we'll need your completed design questionnaire, which will provide us with crucial details about your business. You should have a clear understanding of your target audience, as well as your business. If you have a general idea of styles that you like or that appeal to your target audience, that's great. If not, at least knowing what you don't like can be a helpful starting point. And of course, we'll need your business name.
Do you provide printing services for the collateral?
No, we do not offer printing services as part of our package. However, we understand the importance of having high-quality printed materials and are more than happy to recommend a reliable printer or manufacturer that can meet your needs. We want to ensure that both your online and offline materials represent your brand in the best possible way.
Do I own the design?
Yes, after the final balance has been paid, you will receive copyright and own all files and designs.
How will I receive my files once the project is finished?
Upon the receipt of final payment, we will send you a link to download your designs. Your logo files will be delivered in four formats: PNG, PDF, SVG and EPS, in all colourways. Your stationery or custom packaging files, will be prepared for print and handed over as PDF or EPS files. We'll also keep a copy of your files in our archive in case you lose yours.
How many revisions are allowed?
There are 2 rounds of refinements included in every project. Additional revisions can be requested, but they are charged separately.
Web Design
Is copywriting included in the price of the package?
No, copywriting is not included in the price of the package. Our primary focus is on the design of your website, which includes creating the look and feel of the visuals, meaning that you, as the client are responsible for providing all content, including the website copy. If you need assistance with copywriting, we're happy to recommend a professional copywriter for you to work with.
What do you need from me before the project starts?
Before we can begin your website project, there are a few key things we need from you. Firstly, we'll need your completed web design questionnaire returned with your business details. This will give us a better understanding of your business, your target audience, and your website goals. You should have clear goals for your website. What do you want it to achieve? Who do you want it to reach?
You'll need to have a good understanding of your products or services, as this information will form a significant part of your website content. Speaking of content, you must have all website content, including imagery and text, ready to go by our agreed-upon start date. This is crucial, as failure to provide this could result in us having to reschedule the project to a later date and/or charge a restart fee.
Is the cost of the domain or hosting included in the price?
No, Studio Blanche does not purchase the hosting plan or domain name for you. The client is responsible for all associated costs, including domain costs, hosting costs, and web platform subscription costs. It's important to note that Studio Blanche is not responsible for server downtime, software issues, or any other compatibility issue that may arise after the launch of the site from your hosting or domain provider.
Do you offer website maintenance?
No, we do not currently offer ongoing website maintenance after the project handover. However, we do provide 1-2 weeks of post-handover support, depending on the package, which is included in the price. This is designed to help you get comfortable with your new site and address any initial questions or issues you may have. In addition, we provide supporting documents that explain how to manage and edit your site. These resources can be invaluable as you begin to take control of your site and make updates or changes as needed.
Is SEO included in the package?
Yes, basic SEO setup is included in all of our website packages. This means we'll optimise your website to the best of our ability, setting it up for search engine success. However, it's important to note that writing for SEO is not included. This is a specialised skill that's best handled by a professional copywriter who understands how to create content that both appeals to your audience and performs well in search engine rankings. If you require additional, specific, or ongoing SEO services beyond the basic setup we provide, we recommend getting in touch with an SEO expert.
